Nah, I mean more unique, so I know instantly if the Duty guys (or other side-quest targets) are nearby. Like a yellow X for example.

Isn't there normally a quest marker on them? Or am I just not understanding you properly?
Bjossi on 24/4/2007 at 19:07
There is a quest marker on their original location (the farm house), but the individuals appear as yellow dots just like Freedom guys and other allies. Makes the searching quite a bit harder.

Ah, okay. I was thinking of the single-target missions that have the location pointed out.
Honestly, I like it the way it is. Though, if they were neutral or friendly anyways (and thus always appeared on your radar), then it might be cool.

Hmm, what about important things would work the same as the arrow? The yellow dots of the guys I need to kill would be on the edge of the mini-map, and when they are on the top center of the map, I'm running towards them.

Haha, I have looked through a list of available mods and found something that's quite curious :
Invisible anomalies mod!

If you have read the book or seen the movie, you know the anomalies are invisible and the bolt throwing is a necessary procedure if you want to survive in the Zone. PDA beeping remains though.
This could bring additional challenge and avoidance of invisible danger for those who want it.

That seems pretty cool. I might give it a try later on.

That would make the game even HARDER even.I will save that mod for the
2nd or 3rd run.
Another mod I would like to see could be the"Turtle" or "I gotta go" mod.Not too long after that can of rations or rancid sausage, you get the urge:sweat: ...it might be during a fire fight or a trading session or an arena fight...:tsktsk: you gotta go now.Complete with distortion effects if you leave it too long.
And if you leave it WAY too long the guys in the bar will bug you about the smell.:eww:
Add pine cones to the inventory,or toilet paper for the tender bums.
Add that to the realism mod:)

The beeping kind of ruins that intention, at least from my point of view.

For an intense action game it's at least some handy warning that you are running into disaster when you are fleeing from that bunch of mercenaries firing at you.
If you've had to proceed through the Zone like a slug, throwing bolts ahead of you every few steps just to make sure there is no anomaly, as it can be seen in the movie, that wouldn't be compatible with FPS concept much and after a while it would be hardly funny game at all, rather pretty annoying.
