I've just read this. You don't have to wait 4 months (?) for official Polish version; it will be released (
http://www.gry-online.pl/S013.asp?ID=49072) this month.
And, Koki, in spite of your horrendous language (a terrible mixture of swearing, "cool" neologisms derived from English, teenager's slang, foreign and local words, wrong punctuation, spelling and even ortography) this "review" was quite useful for someone who considers CoP purchase. :)

I am familiar with this localization as I finished SoC in Polish. And I really liked it! The idea of "lector" seemed quite strange at the beginning, but it worked pretty well in this case. No wonder people wanted CoP to be localized that way. Of course, Russian with subtitles would be great too. To each his own. For me SoC in English (without Russian dialogues) would lost a lot of its appeal.
English version has a lot of Russian dialogs. Which is stupid. I mean ok, it's cool for a minute but you know what, I'd rather understand the campfire stories and so on. I can't believe how much cool things I've missed because everybody (both English and Polish versions) decides not to translate things like that. :tsktsk:
Each to his own, yes, but everyone's making it hard to be like that. If I don't like the lector I can't turn him off. I can't set subtitles. I can't do anything. I mean, how much effort would it take to set all those ready-to-go sentences that the lector "translates" into subs?
Seems that Cenega forgot how they've handled NecroVisioN. You could install either full English, full Polish or Polish with subs. But stalker, nooo, everyboby loooves the lector so we wooon't give any options, any at all. :nono:

You just don't give up, do you. Fun Fact: Russian version has StarForce while German version has SecuROM; We'll see again in what part of the world Poland really is.

Don't forget inside jokes. I'd have to be one stuck-up dork to write a "proper" review when I'm not even getting paid for it. Hell, if I had to write properly I probably wouldn't bother at all.
That, and last time I actually wrote regularly in polish was in High School.

You can't set subtitles because there is quite a few talky in-engine TPP cutscenes, and the engine doesn't even support displaying text like that(as far as I know). So it's either lector or full dub.

Hm. Then I'd prefer full dub, even in Polish. The best would be if I could install either Polish or English dub but since English version is already a translated one rather than original, that's never gonna happen. Lector makes it sounds fake.

Hey Koki, could you give a quick translated summation of that post? I'm interested in knowing what you think has been improved etc in this one and I can't read polish. :p

Why do you make me doublepost? Why?
Is there a way to solve the
Monolithan
quest without befriending either Duty or Freedom? Both of them say they don't trust me, and I can't talk to anyone else about it.
