You need artifacts to put on the belt and to find artifacts you need to use the detector around anomalies, they're much harder to find than in SoC but there is a jellyfish (useful in CS) at the very start in the area where the tower is before the very first emission (excluding the one in the first cutscene).
I don´t know how to use the detector.:( ... how will i ever know that i´m stepping an artifact?

Check your control options, there is a key that equips the detector (don't know whats the default key).

I think it's "o" or "k", remember that you can only use the detector if you have a bolt (6) or a pistol equipped. better detectors give you more range, a better visual indication where the artifact is hidden and last, but not least: you can find the best artifact only with the best detector. So it's advised to revisit a few artifact fields after you got better armor and a better detector.

Steo, what mods are you using?
My current game has Oblivion Lost V2 with the weapons completely reworked by me because, while OL2 adds some awesome stuff to the game, I couldn't stand what they did to the weapons. The other problem with OL2 is that they added a load of new artifacts, some which are ridiculously overpowered (ie +20% bulletproof cap, +200 health and -450 bleeding (- is good) at the cost of +10 rad) and to top it off, you can equip ten artifacts at once. I stopped playing when bullets started healing me. OL2 is great, but you need to add your own self-imposed restrictions to balance out those artifacts.
If you like, I can email you my config\weapons folder. Just drop me a PM with your address and I'll send it.

Ever heard of head shots?
I don't understand why so many people complain about the "accuracy" of the guns when in real life guns are
not as accurate as in video games.
Now that's preposterous.
And how can you headshot if the guns are inaccurate?

Yeah, I always thought a lot of the changes in OL were pretty rubbish. The best bits are all cribbed from other mods, they've changed stuff that was
already OK and there's some bizarre decisions, like including the artifacts you mentioned. The mod creator comes across as a bit... immature on the forums though, which might explain the occasional lack of rhyme or reason.
I'd also like to try your weapons, so I'll PM you my addy in a bit if you don't mind.

Artifacts are found around anomalies. Whenever you see a patch of anomalies, take out the detector and try to safely navigate the anomalies (using bolts) until you find the artifact.

Veles will show the artifact on its screen, while the basic detector will just beep if you close enough.
