If somebody is BSing around, that's you.
And to make the point, dear Mr. Experts, I don't buy Quadro to play... but I suppose pretending to play on the same PC I use to work isn't entirely irrealistic.
I could dismantle easily most, if not all your objections, but it's clear you're not listening, reading or even googling "door won't open".
I just wanted to say my opinion and that's it.
I've got a Q6600, 3.5GB of RAM, and a now-old 8800 GTX, and I can max out the game at at least 60 FPS. Your computer sucks, not the game.

Does the word irrealistic even exist?
irregardless, the word kinda sounds a bit igsmart, don't it?

coming back to the cryengine, I don't think it's the worse pick they could have made. although I would have liked to see a better x-ray engine, at least the cry engine can render wood and trees pretty good. as compare to the "vaseline" trees in unreal. And AI/A-life will hopefully be improved on. At least animations should flow more natural now. but we'll see, most of the original stalker dev team is off to work on Metro 20XX (can't remember the number), which sounds pretty awesome, too.

What about the Far Cry 2 engine? (since we're speculating) That might do the trick, provided they put some blue back in the colour scheme. (I dunno what it's like later on, it sits alone and unloved on my desk poor thing)

I didn't like Far Cry 2 at all. Gets boring really fast. And visually, it didn't impress me that much. I remember that Far Cry, at the time, leaving me with a much better impression.

Okay, but we're talking the engine...

the engine is ok, it's very scalable and played pretty good on an old single core pc of my friend. but the visuals...they didn't hold up that good when you are in confined spaces, so not good for indoor monster dungeon.

But wouldn't that be a limitation of their level designers' abilities, rather than a deficiency of the engine?
We know that Far Cry 2's AI work was pretty inept, so this idea wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination.
