you can't catch the disease again if you already have it. you can however get other diseases. so if you want so badly to get rid of those undead, get yourself a mandrake or a potion, go kill them, then cure yourself of all diseases.
and no, a disease will not keep on downing taking more of your stat points except the original ones.

Thanks, might try that first.
One thing to note: as you haven't installed Knights of the Nine, you can only use the wayshrines from a particular Divine once per fame point, i.e. if you use a shrine to Akatosh then you can use shrines devoted to the other eight Divines, but to use another Shrine of Akatosh you need to gain another fame point.

What's a fame point and where do I get them? Do I have to fight in the arena to get famous?

OK, thanks. Should be a full evening.

You can, but you also get fame points for completing the main quest's steps, Guild quests, closing Gates and through some miscellaneous quests.

Ah yes, I should have remembered, the imperial guards already recognize me as the hero of Kvatch so that should be good for one round shrines. Can't wait to catch a few more diseases.

I should add that I restored my strength by going to Weynon Priory and frobbing the font or something there. Dunno if that can be repeated or if it's a one-off.
I did find a shrine south of Bruma but was told I wasn't repulsive enough - something about calling up Daedra - so I gave that a miss. I have enough quests for now.

Ah, Namira's Shrine I think? You were a wee bit to the east of the Akatosh shrine, but no matter!

BTW, I finally went back to my 'zombies'. The rest of them were mostly skeletal guardians. I had to make 4 or 5 visits because I kept getting overloaded and had to carry away what I had to sell it. The shop guy must wonder what I do for a living. Then trudge all the way back. Kinda spoils it. The final visit was just for one axe worth over 400 and you have to go all the way through from the start of the entrance. It was a good adventure apart from that though. When I started I had less than 1000 in gold; by the time I had finished I had about 8000. This was clearly meant to be a quest but I stumbled on it and cleaned it out without it being a formal quest. The last two cloaked guys I couldn't beat with my weapons so I snuck by them. There was also a flying spook thing I left - flares had no effects nor sword nor arrows.
Now I had stripped off everything I could do without. Used most efficient armour etc I could weight for protection ration but it was never enough. I would typically return after selling stuff with encumbrance at say 130/280. Now I guess encumbrance is not the same as weight because a rough count and I could only see about 70 or 80 in weight.
Whenever I level up I try to boost strength so I can carry more but it is never enough.
PS is bow damage added to arrow damage when it hits?
