Ok so this may seem really odd , but I have one of the Mod Squad houses, the one in Balmora, and I want to stack my books nice like Is there anyway to stack them with the spine facing out, library like - or can they only be piled? Thanks ahead of time. Peace.

Nah; I'm quite sure there's no way to organize books neatly while in the game world. The only way books/other items can be organized neatly is by going into the editor and making all of the adjustments in there. But, I don't believe you can actually go into your own save games and rearrange your characters' stuff.
I've got piles of books all over the place in my chars' house:p

If I understand you right, you just need to face your character in the proper direction when stacking your books. When you drop items, it's position is relative to your viewpoint. If it's not exactly where you want, pick it back up and reposition your character. Then drop it again. Repeat as necessary.
