I followed the guide from here and got my cutscenes to work!

Right now, System Shock 2 is working perfectly under Windows 7 x64 for me :)
I can't believe I got it to work, and 1680x1050 resolution to boot!

If you mean the DDFix Widescreen thing yeah I ran that. This is what I did otherwise:
1) Install System Shock 2 to C:\Games\Sshock2 using the -lgntforce extension on CD setup.
2) Installed latest Official 1999 System Shock 2 patch.
3) Installed SS2Tools, now Windows 7 security prevented 2 files in the root sshock2 folder from being modified so I erased them and hit retry, SS2tools filled in the appropriate files then.
4) Widescreen set to 1680x1050 and 100Fov, looks and feels great.
5) Followed the guide as listed in my above post for Cutscene fix, installed Indeo5 codecs and applied regsvr32 commands to input files into registry.
6) Ran sshock2.exe as Administrator. No problem.
Time for my tenth anniversary run of the game!

The SS2Tool also contains the Official System Shock 2 patch. Just saying.
I'd be interested to know which files exactly were write protected by Windows 7 security?
Sounds like this problem was related: (

Maybe I can fix it in the next version.

Hey Kolya and thanks again for a fantastic program. It's also good to know the patch is contained in SS2Tools rofl.
Anyways the 2 files that Windows 7 wouldn't allow write to are:
ddfixGUI.dll
ddfixGUI.exe
When it said abort, retry, ignore I just went into my folder, erased the original files and hit retry. SS2Tools proceeded to place its own files in there, I'm already on Recreation Deck so I assume it worked. :D
