What does everybody think the new realistic system requirements are for SS2 now that we have so many mods and hacks for the game? I know everybody has a different preference for how they modify the game for maximum enjoyment but lets consider the worst case. We can play at very high resolution now, we have many new high res textures, several new AI and world models with high poly counts and there may be other things that have improved over time.
I have recently noticed slight hiccups in my frame rate in areas where there are a lot of objects/enemies and I suspect the game is catching up with my hardware. I don't think 4 megs of video ram is gonna cut it anymore :P

I think one of the system requirements, in the inverse of the usual norm, is a graphics card less that or equal to the Geforce 7 series or ATI X1000 series.

Is that enough to run SS2 by default?

I just upgraded to a Radeon X1950 Pro (AGP), and it renders SS2 and Thief perfectly.

Clarification:
By "less than or equal to X1000 series", I meant anything below the X2000 series. X1950 falls into "X1000 series" here.

D'oh!
(didn't even realize there was an X2000 series already...)

Don't worry, you're not missing much. I have an HD2900 in my new comp and according to the early benchmarks, the 1950 does just as well in some games.
Bjossi: 4 meg according to wiki....and 32 meg system ram

If you have a 2000-series card, you should really contribute (with screenshots) to (

Unfortunately, I wouldn't quite go as far as to say 'perfectly'. Unless ATI fixed the drivers since the last time I checked, the horrible fog in Thief 2 on ATI cards wouldn't allow me to ever use the term 'perfectly'. Still a lot better than recent nVIDIA cards, though.

True enough about the fog, I'd almost forgotten about that. When I switched from nVidia to ATI, I was just thrilled to get stars and a non-posterized cloud deck back. This was before the no-dithering problem reared its ugly head.
Fortunately, it seems most FM authors have been tuning their fog for ATI cards for quite a while now.
