No doubt, a little late in the day to be asking this, but...since Goggles has no difficulty breathing anywhere he goes, at least the ship's environmental air system(s) is/are working. Therefore, why hasn't the radiation from the Engineering Deck contaminated all the levels to which it is directly attached? Sure, maybe it's a slow leak but it's also been awhile. Lead walls? Or does this just require suspension of belief?

I think you answered your own question...
Don't forget, Goggles can walk 1 foot from one floor tile to another and be in a radiation safe zone. How realistic is that? Do green radiation clouds have discrete planar boundaries?

A ship without isolated decks/areas would be stupid.

How/if the radiation would spread depends on its source. If a gas (eg Radon) it will spread like a gas, if it's particulate it'll spread like smoke or dust spreads (roughly) and if it comes from a fixed source it would spread radiatively, basically like light, and depending on the type of radiation would be stopped by pretty much anything (alpha), somewhat thicker pretty much anything (beta) or moderate thicknesses of a dense substance (gamma; the substance does not have to be lead, lead is just the most dense non radioactive metal so is 'best'). The radiation in SS2 does not, of course, really fit any of those types. Practically speaking, a spaceship should have independent and isolatable air supplies for each level at the very least, else a single leak anywhere would kill everyone, and bulkhead thick metal would stop most gamma radiation. And, of course, in real life if you are exposed to radiation and feel immediate effects you very likely are, to all intents and purposes, already dead.

And one could imagine that 150 years in the future that central air supply filters should have NBC scrubbers (we'll be able to do it by then, given all the other ridiculous things possible in the SS games.) Elsewise terrorism on spaceships would be stupid easy.

I'm not sure if I understand you right, because of my bad english, but the ship is not contaminated, because the mass is not so wide respawnd!

The effects of your bad English are twofold it seems.

Thx to all who replied & for games which make us think & wonder.
In my mind, as time goes by, the entire ensemble slowly increases its glow-in-the-dark factor.
