My apologies if this has been posted already, but system shock 2 is now available on Steam. regular price $9.99 but on sale for awhile for $6.99. anybody know anything about this? I thought no one entity owned the entire license thus preventing the game from ever being re-released

Some enterprising individual went about acquiring the publishing rights out of oblivion this past year, and then set up their own publishing company called Night Dive studios. This has allowed SS2 to be released on gog.com and now, apparently, steam as well!

can someone confirm whether the steam exe uses 2.4 or 2.42?
//so yeah, it uses 2.42, and I'm 99.99% sure it has been pre-patched with ss2tool 5.1. what can I say.

I wonder if the co-op multiplayer menu has been improved at all. It would be amazing to see a list of games that can be joined. It's always been really difficult to get the host settings and IP information working.

no, the multiplayer is still wonky, as always.

Very glad to see one of the best games ever on Steam.
Just waiting for Homeworld and System Shock 1 now. :D
