I just recently played SS1 for the first time, so now I'm on to SS2. I was wondering though -the colors seem like they want 16-bit color depth. Short of changing XP's color every time I launch, is there a solution for 32-bit?
Is there maybe a utility to quick change my depth for me and back again when I quit? I had one before but I can't seem to remember the name.

My understanding is that your color depth settings are automatically changed when the game starts, unless you are somehow forcing the game to display in 32-bit color. Given that SS2, and the Dark engine itself are locked in 16-bit color, there are no benefits to forcing 32-bit.
There are a number of ways to change color-depth before launching the game. Simplest way is to use MultiRes (google for it), a tray app that lets you change resolutions and color depths on the fly. Your up-to-date video card drivers will likely also have a means to change resolutions and color depths on a game-to-game basis, using game profiles.

Actually I was told by a fan the way it looks was fine - I've just never played a game on this engine yet so I wasn't sure. :thumb:
So far I'm enjoying it.

I'm fine with 16-bit, 8-bit however would be under my personal min. requirements. :erm:

Probably because you haven't seen it in 16-bit mode. :p
