Just wanted to say that there are descriptions of implant slots behind the ear covered by a piece of fake skin in (what else) Neuromancer. In the books some people have a rainbow of different colored implants behind their ears, sometimes just for prestigious reasons. Due to the books' influence I always assumed it was the same in the SS games although I don't remember any hints on that in the games.
