I'm now playing with both the Rebirth beta and SHTUP Beta 6. Are there any other mods that are "necessary"? I've read something about Arcaniac True Redux Graphics Pack and ADaoB v0.2.5. Would like to know what you guys think of these and if it's worth installing or not. Currently only using Rebirth and SHTUP, as stated above. Note that this will be my first time playing through SS2. Don't know if that really matters, but some people have been saying that I should play it through with a minimum amount of mods installed to get a more "original" feeling.

Cruise on, you're in the right lane. ADaoB maybe an optional third mod but it's also fun to see some of SS2's idiosyncrasies. Otherwise you may never understand why everyone says that the AR is overpowered and a lot of other things....
Oh yeah, rebirth is kinda optional too. Well have a look at it yourself and see what you like better there.

Guess I will keep on with Rebirth beta and SHTUP beta then!

If this is your first time playing, I don't recommend the Rebirth mod. The original models look creepier.

Personal oppinion there. I generally find the rebirth models just as creepy, and the detailadds a bit for me. Still...I'm just glad rebirth never touched those spiders *shudder*.

I like the Arcaniac mod a bit more. The weapon replacements are dubious (some look very meh), although they do have your arms showing, which isn't that bad. The models in general are way better than Rebirth for the single reason they are less cartoony. I think rebirth went overboard with the colours and the scared faces, to the point where they look almost funny...

I butchered the shit out of both mods.....not to mention every other graphical mod out there. I took whatever I liked, disposed of what I didn't like and made one big messy uber-mod. The results were pretty decent I have to say.

Mind giving me your recipiet? I'd like to see what other people do when kludging mods together. Why? Well I plan on pulling something together then repacking the CRFs.
