There is a very thorough walkthrough available at (
http://sshock2.com).

Another question!
In the Deck 5 (Recreation) mess area, in the area where the big combat droid bursts through the wall at you, there is a window through which you can see a small room with a seated corpse, a pistol, and some antipersonnel pistol ammo. I think this room corresponds to the smoking "broken door" in the nearby hallway. Is there any way into this room?

Thanks for the detailed description to find the ladder, Kasreyn. I will try it out later. Isn't that strange? I own that game since '99 and played it for about a dozen of times but never found that ladder ..
And yes, Rebeccas stuff is in the right corner on the other side of the room, right behind the elevator shaft.
As for that room on Recreation ..
The broken door leads from the hallway into the dining hall/mess, but the room behind the wall actually has no door. I guess the broken door accidentally was placed in the mess instead of that room.
As far as I know, the only way to get the stuff there is to use the psi ability "Kinetic Redirection" ..

There's also this office in the Rickenbaker that you can access by climbing a ladder then walking on a conduit. You have to break into the room by smashing a window, it leads nowhere and the door is jammed, but there are a few goodies in the desk if I'm not mistaken.
The room serves no apparent purpose at all other than just, well, be there... Another mad-design feature of that ship I guess. :)

Once again, I don't think that's exactly a 'secret', since all you have to do to find it is look to your right while climbing the ladder ;)
There are several collapsed parts in the Rick, so I suppose the door of that office would originally lead to one of the now unaccessible parts of the ship.

Agreed. It's not exactly obvious either though ;) (to me in the beginning anyway)
However, sounds like all "real" secret places have been mentioned already, so... Well, except the basket ball on level 1, but that one is obvious... right? :cheeky:

I still haven't found the basketball, that bloody thing is invisible to my bad eyesight. :eww:

If you look at the walktrough in sshock2.com, it explains exactly where you can find the basketball.

im a bit freaked out. :wot:
having had sshock2 for years now, and having played it up to a certain point a few times (engineering deck, so not very far) then abandoning it (not through boredom or frustration, but through fear ;-) I've finally picked it up again and managed to finish it today! but...
before i finished it today and not knowing i was close to the end either
(i had just got to the brain room)
i thought, hmm, i want to have a quick look at the original system shock. so i downloaded it and somehow managed to get it working after messing with it for hours. I played the first 15 minutes of it and got gunned down by a laser turret or something. anyway it was getting dark and i thought, yeah, ill get back to sshock 2 now...
so i got past the brain, having died a load of times. and made my way into shodans memory reality. hmm, this looks familiar. oh my GOD! i realised i was in what little of system shock 1 i had JUST played! the thing is, had i played sshock 1 any other time afterwards i wouldnt have appreciated the loyal recreation of its opening corridors. it was really great to have the fluidity of sshock 2's interface and controls in that setting. its in that regard that i'm a bit freaked out.
anyway... i found all those secrets mentioned above first time round on the hard setting (clocked in about 20 hours+):thumb: . i played as a maxed out hacker with standard weapons maxed and a few psi powers up to level 3 for buffing my stats. also had research fairly high and maintain, had a tonne of hypos and other stuff left by the end
(which by the way I thought was terrible). I winced for the first time on sshock2 when your character goes "nah". i cant believe how after so much greatness in design they spoilt it with a dumb ending.
sorry folks, needed to get that off me chest :cheeky:
oh yeah did anybody find the 'Inescapable-Hole-of-Doom' near the escape pods where the gantry had collapsed? its where you go down a ladder on to a ledge next to some water and there are some pipes that you can walk along to get to another ledge. By mantling a particular wall you can gain access to The Hole.

While nothing in the game really qualifies as a "secret" (most things rely on your power of observation and a big dose of patience), there are a few items that I found only after many playthroughs.
Here are some hard to find items - did you find them all?:
1) On Command, there are two short bridges connecting to the escape pods (where Tommy and Becky depart). One of these bridges has collapsed, so you need to jump to make it across. If you look down the hole, you see a 50 nanite pile down there (needs psi pull).
2) On Hydro A (I believe - the place where you find the first Rifle), there are two hidden Cyber Modules - one in the room above the recharger right after entering via the airlock, and another 3 CM hidden between crates in the adjacent room.
3) At the second tram stop on Command, if you look high on a ledge opposite the stop, you see a Psi-booster (only accessible via Psi pull)
4) Near Diego's body there's an implant, which is almost impossible to see
5) In the BOTM, when you enter a chamber with the first griding tooth in front of you, there's a pool of water and a makeshift fort made out of doors on the side. If you look up, there are nanites (64 I think) and some HE bullets on an artery above, which require psi-pull or need to be shot down by the grenade launcher.
6) On engineering in the Xerxes core room, if you look up, you'll see nanites stuck on a high ledge.
