Does anyone know how to delete a saved game from a save slot in System Shock 2 (SS2)?
I want to delete a few extraneous saves before I start a new game so they don't "clutter up" the save slots.
(I searched the two SS2 forums for things like "delete saved games" and similar but didn't see anything turn up).
Thanks,
Martek

You need to delete them manually.
They're stored in the "Save_#" folders in your SS2 install path. You can just delete the whole folders.
Never delete the 'Current' save folder, though.

Thanks, Nameless Voice.
I was hoping it was as easy as that. :thumb:

Then what makes you trust that the GUI save game names are related to the file save game names ;) ?

I see clues from either the filename or the format. ;)
# in the folder Save_# tells me which slot it belongs to, and so does save#.usa in Unreal. But of course there are games that have a naming system that makes this difficult to know.

Yes, but what if the GUI changes changes the numbers around so that 4 correspons to 46 and 3 corresponds to 12? I mean, after all, if it tries to trick you in-game, you cannot trust it out game either..!

Go by the file dates. It's the only way to be sure.
