Im so frusterated! ive gone through the game awhile back on my windows 98 and i managed to get it up and running on my new vista laptop. it ran smooth untill i decided to mod it with the rebirth, shtup, deep fried beer sound, and a ton of weapon mods. i didnt use mod manager (instead i manually dragged all the folders in the correct folders (obj,text15,and mesh)and i have the patch installed. Now when i play the game whenever a enemy is about to appear the game freezes and i hear the disk starting to run fast than everything loads. I have also taken off one of the prossesors so its only running on one but still nothing i even made the game a top priority while running through task manager and still it doesnt work HELP!

what is Kolya (probably) trying to say is that a fully modded install of ss2 needs much more horsepower than the vanilla thing-if you are trying to run it on some dell with 1GHz p3 cpu and integrated intel graphics, you are out of luck..

well if you actually read my post it says im running a new vista lap top 4 Gb of ram 2.0 ghz believe me i was running current gen games flawlessly on this thing and i boot up system shock with mods and it stutters wtf i have the horse power the disk just needs to read information thats why it stutters.

Wait, are you talking about the CD spinning up? Yeah, that's annoying.
You can use the SS2Tool to get of the little freezes. Gee man, I wonder how you managed to avoid that.
