Did you try write the line safe_texture_manager at the bottom of cam.cfg? It's mentioned in the FAQ.

I find it a little strange that everyone always says to put it in cam.cfg, even though in Thief 2 (which comes with the line, though commented out, by default) places it in user.cfg.
It makes absolutely no difference, of course.
In any case, make sure you put at least one blank line after safe_texture_manager in whichever .cfg file you place it.

I tell people to put it in cam.cfg because SS2 doesn't come with a user.cfg; the user inevitably comes back with "Where's user.cfg?"

Post new thread first, think later :p

And people on other forums wonder why we get uppity with those that don't read the FAQs...
Surely it's common sense. One minute spent reading some boring FAQ could save minutes/hours/(sometimes) days of waiting for a reply to a question.

Or it would, if people didn't reply so promptly around here. ;)

We have a choice of telling people to add it to cam.cfg or they create user.cfg.txt and then scratch their head about why it doesn't work...
