Nuts. Would I be correct in guessing that the information on a texture's angle isn't readily accessible?

DarkUtils seems to have a function for getting the current
rotation of the texture, but you mean the angle of the surface? I don't know, probably not.
At least, not easily. DarkUtils also has functions for getting the shape, medium (solid/water/air), rotation, size, etc. of brushes, but working out what that creates is another matter.
<hr>
When I try to add the "techc" texture family in general, and the p0053x texture in particular, I get this error:
Quote:
Assertion Failed
---------------------------
Failed to load resource data p0053x_5.gif (File: resman.cpp, Line: 1350)
If I hide away p0053x_5.gif, then the error goes with it. Dark doesn't seem to want to read that texture for some reason.
This affects Ops2.mis (the only mission I've come across that uses p0053x so far.)

That's bizarre. Can you view that texture normally in a paint program? Maybe something in that particular bit pattern is exposing a bug in Dark's GIF library. What if you doodle on the GIF and save it? Or save it as a PCX instead of a GIF?

Opening the image in question in Photoshop and saving it over itself solves the problem. For the record, the image opens perfectly in all the image programs that I tried (PicaView, IrfanView, Photshop, even Windows thumbnail view).
Another odd little piece of information: running the texture swapper on a mission that doesn't contain any of the textures in question seems to corrupt the mission. Running my little script on Many.mis (which contains no screens) causes ShockEd to crash when I try to open it, with an "out of memory" error.
After several hours of optimsing missions and quite a few bizarre crashes, I've just finished implementing the new textures into ADaOB. I haven't modified the animation rates or the rotations yet, though.

I just noticed on Ops that the textures P0055 through P0060 (the various "Environment ____ Control" screens with the flashing up/down arrows) aren't set to render unlit in the default game.

I noticed today that our "unstripped" versions of ops3.mis and ops4.mis <s>aren't not</s> <b>are not</b> in fact unstripped after all, so add those to the list of missions that we can't use these new textures in.

That's what you get when you edit your post to change the wording and forget to delete the old wording properly!
Let me ninja edit that to make your post look foolish. :D

This time I'll let it slide but you'd better have some good news to report next time mister:sly:
