Putting shock.exe (and other games that don´t run with ffdshow) on the "don´t use ffdshow" list works fine. I won´t be able to use ffdshow to play the new cs2.avi ingame, though. It might work if all cutscenes are replaced, I guess.

I think the crash generally happens if you have other 'dodgy' codecs installed which don't get along with FFDShow.
I know for certain that FFDShow can work with Dark Engine games, and will play these cutscenes - since it works for me.

This was necessary with an older version of FFDShow. That bug was fixed though.

Seriously awesome work bud!
Also i'd just like to add that FFDSHOW successfully decodes that video for me in SS2. My proof is that it asked if Sshock2.exe be added to the whitelist when i was ingame.

@Kolya: I downloaded ffdshow tryouts beta 4, which I thought was supposed to be the most recent version:
(
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941)
(there don´t seem to be "non-beta" builds, beta 4 is listed as "stable", though)
@Nameless Voice: I don´t have many codecs, since I use KMPlayer (which has internal codecs for nearly everything). I installed windows media player 11 because some games require it, and maybe some games brought codecs with them - apart from that there are no codecs or codec packs installed on my system.
Did you change any settings in ffdshow? I didn´t change the settings during installation, and I didn´t touch any options within ffdshow so far (besides putting some games on the "don´t use" list).

*Raise Dead*
So, any progress on the other cutscenes? ;)

Hey, concern. Cool. Cheers
It's still on my mind, I've just been obsessed elsewhere (for 6 months). I was fidgeting around with the early part of CS1 a while ago. I should nail that down and see if it's worthy of approval. The shuttle launch was going to be next as it's fairly simple, though pleasing dromed isn't.
Anyway, I mostly agree with Shadowcat up there (though I thought my moire patterns were ok, damn you all) and there's a couple of shots that need redo-ing for that. Much of it is getting Goggles across the room in time without having him stroll casually from one end to the other. The time compression there is mostly a tolerable departure, I feel.
I'll hop on the horse some more soon-ish, I hope.
Other progress can be made by telling Renzatic to leave whatever bedpost he's working on and get back to space ships where he belongs. ;)
