Great! I'm glad to know this project is still alive. Just a little nitpick: I reproduced the video with Media Player Classic and there where some artefacts in the final letters ("42 years later"). Maybe they were caused by the codecs I have installed, I don't know.
Anyway, I hope you don't throw in the towel and keep up your good work, even if it takes a long time between updates.

If by "reproduced" you mean "replayed," I did the same thing and didn't notice anything.

Yeah, I meant 'replay'. Sorry for my bad English.
I tried the video in the VLC Player and the letters were pristine, but the artefacts appeared again with BSPlayer. So it must be a matter of codecs.

I would only dislike it if you said this was the final product. It's definitely an impressive accomplishment, but still needs work to stand as a true replacement. Most of the non-trivial effects in your version seem simpler and less layered than in the original, and some of the animation (like SHODAN's circuits) seems a bit too fast, though I'd have to do a side-by-side comparison to be sure.

There's a element of this over all effect I wonder isn't just more detail showing up the simplicity of the noisy, low res original. But yes, there's quite a few aspects where there's clearly more going on as the various elements interact and I have to admit I'm a little stumped as to how some of it was done and how to reproduce it.
I'd need to hear more about 'most' and 'non-trivial' though, if you feel like it.

I've tweaked and fixed the old one a little bit now. I consider this the penultimate version. So see if there's any remaining niggles that can be elimated and hopefully my provider's web space holds up (it's just so much quicker to upoad there).

I had to unlurk just to say how awesome these new updated SS2 cutscenes are now. Really amazing work, Muzman. This is why I'll always game on an open platform like the PC, because it allows for talented people to keep updating and improving a title long after its release.

Wow!
My only thought is that is seems as if you didn't have ADaoB installed when taking the video of the hacker waking up and onward, because a couple of the shots show the old animated screens on the walls (at 1:44, for example) instead of the newer, high resolution ones from SHEMP that were incorporated into ADaoB. Other than that, I think it looks great!
