Are custom resolutions possible with SS2, or am I stuck with 1024*768?
I'd like to run the game at 1600*1200, if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but I wouldn't mind to play in 1680x1050 widescreen :)

Just edit your cam.cfg file, and change the game_screen_size values to use the resolution you want. In your case:
game_screen_size 1600 1200
P.S.- The 'Search' function is your friend. Feel free to use it and abuse it.

Though the screen size command in cam.cfg only covers the standard 4:3 resolutions, from 640 x 480 - 1600 x 1200, widescreen ain't gonna work here.

Thanks! That did the trick.

Sorry bout that. I tried google, but that turned up nothing for me (kept bringing up SHTUP).

Can someone post a screenshot of that resolution? I'd like to see the size of the HUD.

I meant the forum's search function, obviously :)
Unless one has a really big screen, at 1600 x 1200 it must be almost impossible to read the text on logs or item descriptions.

I tried it on my dad's computer (17" CRT @ 1600 x 1200) and it was indeed impossible to read the text.

Does anyone know where I can download the SS2 High-resolution cutscenes? Thanks.

I know that, that's why I apologised. Sorry for not making that clear.

I had forgotten that my monitor doesn't support 1600*1200 (physically impossible on a 1680*1050 LCD), 1280*1024 is the best 4:3 res it can do.

Someone once scaled the existing cutscenes. But it only resulted in a few very large files without any quality gained. That's what people usually mistake for "high res cutscenes".
