I bought and own the CD for System Shock 2 but it was a little scratched when i got it. is there anyfile on the CD or anything i can download that will alow the game to be played by using the files on my computer without the CD?

Try the Kolyatool. You can find it at strangebedfellows.de, in the system shock 2 section. It'll also update it to the latest patch and adds some bugfixes.

you can also use something like alcohol or CloneCD to create an image of the CD and either burn it onto a fresh one or mount it to a virtual cd-rom via daemon tools.

Yeah, always best to copy your CD's/DVD's and put the original away somewhere safe.

Yep, my SS2 CD died a long time ago.
Thank god for ISO images.
Easiest way I can think of would be to use (
http://www.imgburn.com/) ImgBurn.
I don't use it myself but it is free and ridiculously easy while at the same time quite fully featured.

I can't remember the last time I actually installed SS2. It just gets copied from one hard drive to the next.

This. Last time I reinstalled Thief / Thief 2 / SS2 was when the hard disk that I'd had them on fried.

Thank you all for the replies:cheeky: However, it worked at first but now im getting the error message: "Your video hardware is not supported by System Shock 2". Anybody know of this error and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
