Hello all,

Ive searched and searced the net, including these (luckily still active) boards for a solution, but I can't find any so I became a bit desperate!

I recently installed SS2 on my laptop, modded everything up to date and the game runs fine. BUT there is one BIG problem; the atmospheric lightning/effects don't work or show at all. The whole SS2 world is bright, no darkness/lightning effects here at all. Just a plain bright world. I can't take any screenshots of it (using the printscreen button/paste in photoshop technique, anyone knows how to take a screenshot?!) so I hope you guys understand what I mean.

Does anyone happen to know a solution? I play with a Mobility Modded ATI Radeon Xpress 200m driver, I'm unable to run Catalyst Control Center with it. But all other games just run fine.

Things I've tried so far;
- Installing/running the game without any mods
- Cleaned the whole windows registry of any SS2 traces/reinstall
- Updated/downgraded drivers

All didn't work! And I couldn't find anyone with the same problem or a solution either.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just tried it, but it makes no difference. Still no shading/lightning effects or whatever you name it (wish I could take some screenshots to let you see what I'm talking about).

But thanks anyway! More suggestions always welcome!

Yes, that fix came with the other one you suggested me... but no succes either. I'm about to give up! It's probably my videocard,but even downgrading drivers or whatever does not work. Guess I just have to play this game on a different system. :(

Man, I really appreciate the effort. But even with the Omega drivers I keep having the same problem for some strange reason. I think it's either my videocard (radeon xpress200m) or really some software problem. Very strange! All other games I play work just fine. :/
