All are taken from medical science 1. No objects are displayed (this will have to wait till obj. system is implemented).

The open dark engine has been in planning stage for ... quite some time. Are you a coder for the project? Is work getting done now? :D
You're down with OPDE?
Yeah you know me!

Ok couldn`t understand a single word on that page, but the screenshots look excellent. Guessing the engine still has a LONG way to go, but looks great regardless.

Yes, the work is going on. Slowly, but it is. Do you, by the planning stage, mean the status on the sourceforge project page? The CVS is steadily growing, but at this time it can't be just marked pre-alpha (that will take just some time).
@clearing: thanks for posting the screenshots.

Yeah, well I remember reading about the project at least a year ago but never hearing much about it since then. It's good to see now that you're making progress. :)
Edit: Found the (

Well, that is mostly caused by the fact that I was working alone, and I'm more a crawler than a forum most active member :)
Through the year, things changed actually.
At one point, I was actually able to load and display objects along with the maps in irrlicht, but after trying to code some more, I realized irrlicht won't be sufficient, and switched to ogre. This took some amount of time, mainly because of the need to write a custom scene manager for ogre (portals are not implemented in ogre3d).
@clearing: Thanks!

Volca, what is it exactly? It looks interesting, is this going to create shading systems in the game?
icemann on 20/4/2007 at 05:52
Its a completely from scratch coded version of the dark engine, that will be able to run Thief 1 and 2 + System Shock 2 maps, from what I can tell of it.
