I'm having trouble getting into this armoury. I found it using TSSHP, but the texture they use for the door is actually different to the one used in game for some reason. Anyway, in SS1 I've tried double-clicking all over the place where the door should be, but to no avail. It's the left wall just before you go past the first red force-door, right?

Actually, found the hidden door sort of by accident, since I looked out of the elevator after arriving to the bridge and saw part of the Citadel looking section of wall (as opposed to the biological infection walls that are the norm for the bridge). One left-click later the screen read "hidden door" so I kept that in mind. Memory is a bit fuzzy, but I "think" I've found the hidden door before, but I know I haven't been to the armoury previously.

That should be the place. Maybe you need to drop security to 0% or something? Do you at least get the "Hidden Door" message on the screen when clicking at the wall/door? I'll try and grab a map-screen capture for tomorrow just in case.

What is TSSHP?
The only thing that comes to mind is a mod for SS2, but...

The System Shock Hack Project.
Can't remember exactly what it was, but it had to do with recreating SS1(IIRC). It was never finished, however, and is now defunct.

Found it. I was actually looking in the wrong place - it's
not outside the isolinear chipset room, it's outside the diamond shaped room where all the robots appear from behind doors. And the floor hatch is pressure-activated it would seem.

Thousand apologies :o  !!! Yesterday, after getting home, I checked things out, and found that I had indeed given directions to the wrong place :tsktsk: . All I can think is that on Sunday I was so excited about getting into the armory, that I only recalled the starting place of my last save, outside the iso. chip room :( . I know, a lame excuse  .
Did you find 2 Penetrator clips in the alcove?

I always seem to have the exact opposite problem regarding ammo usage in SS1, and that is that the game simply gives you an excessive amount of ammo and supplies. I suppose this is what I get for playing SS2 first and adapting my style to it, but hoarding items and conserving ammo has become second nature to me. Whenever I have to drop one of my weaker projectile weapons to make room for a new one, I always feel obliged to use up any remaining ammo. At one point I even ended up simply strolling around in one of the groves for a while just to take some target practice and expend some ammo, but I still had quite a bit left after doing this for half an hour. This is on 3-2-3-3; no time limit but I still managed to finish in under 5 hours.

Well, for some weapons ammo is shorter than for others (the Penetrator clips spring to mind), but there are always otehr weapons you can use with plenty of ammo. The only thing I really had too much of were batteries, because I hardly ever used any special things like the shield.
I did ran out of med patches/kits though, on level 7.

No, just some large slags, mag-pulse cartridges and a bunch of explosives.
I rather like the way there are so many different ammo types for so many different guns, it appeals to my nerdy side. I don't like the way that they all do different amounts of damage to different enemy types though, which is odd because it invalidates the reason for having the different types in the first place. Odd, I know :erg:
I guess the thing I like about it is just having the choice. I love the fact that they put an almost utterly useless weapon (the riot gun) in there.

Did you check out the alcove that you need to use jump jets to get to? That's where the 2 Penetrator clips and 2 Railgun clips were in my game. From the entrance, looking into the armory, I seem to recall (though memory has been failing  ) it's on the right hand side.
