Hi folks,
A returning SS1 fan on a nostalgia trip here! I bought SS1 after playing a demo of it on a PC mag and it instantly became my most treasured gaming experience of all time. It chugged along happily on my old 486 and got replayed many times.
After many years gathering dust on the shelf I decided to give it another spin and got it up and running after reading the excellent post on these forums but have encountered a slight problem. I'M STUCK!!!!!
I've, to my mind, completed level 1, with security now at 0% and managed to evade the "welcome" I got by reaching this figure. My problem is that I still can't unlock the door to get to the lift. What have I missed? Any help out there for an old hacker?!!!

If you head around to where the cyborg conversion chamber is, between that room and the small bridge (Which has a force lift down to a small area with a lone camera) is a gate that leads to another room. In the corner of that room (Next to a niche on the floor) is a lift that will take out down to the main elevator. You can unlock the bulkhead doors from this side.

The lift isn't exactly marked "lift" (took me a while to find it), but it does look different to the surrounding floor tiles.

Just look for the big red button on the wall next to it.

Thanks everyone. I missed out that damn button but thanks to the hints I'm now currently salting the fries on the 2nd level. :D
