SS1 enhanced text mod

Some people have been asking for the text in System Shock to match the audio, so here's a mod that does just that. Seems to work fine, I played through the game to test it out. (http://terranova.110mb.com/files/SS1_text.zip) SS1 enhanced text mod.

Am I correct in saying that this is the first non-portability orientated SS1 mod ever? If so, you have my congratulations!

And what a great mod it is! I've had trouble understanding a word or two in some of the logs (SHODAN's mainly) so this mod is a big help.

Hope you find inspiration for more mods, Gigaquad, because there are people here who would definitely appreciate your effort.

Thanks, everyone. Some logs were indeed very difficult, I had to listen to them over 100 times before I heard correctly.

Well, first of all, sorry about resurrecting this thread. I know it's old, but what I want to ask is related to it.

Gigaquad, what tools did you use to extract and pack again the text?

I tried the extractor you have on your site, but it does not seem to work with the file you have posted here (it works fine with the original one, but then again, I can't pack it again into a .res file).

I'm asking because I want to do a spanish translation of the game using your strings file as a base (I want to translate the CD version, and I think it would be better if the text matches what the audio logs say).
