I feeling foolish asking this since I finished this game once before.
I can't get the doors to the elevator to open, they're always locked.
I tried cyberspace, but all I managed to do was open the doors to medical storage.
I've tried lowering security. I blew the computer nodes (receiving a lovely threat from SHODAN for it) and took down an assload of cameras.
I've whittled remote security to 3%, but still can't get the doors to open.
My only other guess is that I have to completely wipe out security, knock it all the way down to zero. I can't find any more cameras though and I've checked everywhere. Is there a map or something that can show me where all the cameras are?
Am I supposed to do something different?

I'm pretty sure that there IS a function on the map screen that shows cameras as little red dots. I don't know whether it's available at that point, though.

Do you mean the elevator door itself or that big blueish door to the elevator-room?

You can only open the main door to the elevator from the inside - you need to find another route. The other route is near the cyborg converter.

Explore, and you will find your way eventually. As you destroyed the computer nodes, i don't understand how can you miss the back way to the elevator. And you should be able to open the elevator's door without any requirements. (I made a quick run and i found out that the only thing you need to get past level 1 is Standard and Level1 Security Access Cards and a multimedia data reader [assuming you don't know the code for the first keypad protected door]. You can even make it without having a weapon if you know, where to go. Tough not having any weapon is not advisable. ;))
