Are you sure that your source of this information is trustworthy? Do you have any links to these rumours?
There were rumours EA making on System Shock 3, but these was just rumours. Nothing solid proof were found.
I hope that you know that there is the Citadel Conversion Project, right? It's ongoing fan made conversion project of SS to System Shock 2 - engine.

You`ll notice its always New Forum Members who create these kinds of threads without searching the forums first. Hes very lucky someone didn`t post that picture saying "SEARCH".

:erg: so I was wrong ops, but the majority of them were unautherised and probably died, though the source code could be released (which is very unlikly) from EA. For example the publisher of both free space2 and Duke nukem 3d has released thier sorce codes, which as far as I know EA has not.
