I'm always on the lookout for System Shock references and came across one by accident last night.
I'm currently playing an old adventure for the first time, (
http://www.gamerankings.com/pc/919798-dark-fall-lights-out/index.html) Darkfall 2: Lights Out.
Last night I was exploring an undersea base in the year 2090 and found an mp3 player lying in a cabin. On investigation it had three tracks on:
1: Hal2000
2: Shodan
2: MotherI was really chuffed when I switched to track two and saw what it was called! Obviously Jonathan Boakes is a fan of sci-fi horror.

Not for me - I was parsing for modern day youth.
I still play UFO Enemy Unknown, Jagged Alliance 2, and Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and they are as great as ever.

All three are movie/game computers/artificial intelligences:
1: Hal2000 - Computer in the movie 2001 - space odyssee
2: Shodan - guess what? ^^
2: Mother - Computer in the movie "Alien"
