It's not too late, Vae. They were probably already planning to kick PR into 'continuous contact' mode for the next year, but this SE statement might help ensure that, and maybe cause them to pour it on thicker.
Or if it's deemed too late form them to change anything for NuThief, I bet NuNuThief will at least benefit. PS: "Thief One" has a nice ring to it. I hope NuNuThief is called that ;) j/k

Give them credit for recognizing where they went wrong - I'm sure the development of T4 played into this. How they act going forward will determine if they're serious or not.
I thought this little tidbit was the most interesting though:
"And, finally, it will overhaul large-scale, long-term development to increase asset turnover (i.e. get games out the door). "
Always good to see if someone notice reactions of customers.
But I found this approach maybe a little difficult too. If developers discuss possible features in the public, and these features didn't make it into the game at the end of the day (maybe for technical reasons or maybe they just don't fit to the general setting and style), maybe this policy generates more frustration than silent development.
So IMHO it's a matter of balance.

Also thought it was interesting to note that they're planning on focusing on tablets and mobile.
This will be an important part of the market in the future.
The whole mobile market is rapidly growing. ATM 900 mio. Android devices, several 100 mio. iOS-devices and WP and Win RT is growing too. Even if the can reach 5% of this customers only, they could reach in the near future similar numbers like the intalled base of consoles.

Concerning the stuff posted on Fb, they really need to get someone new to handle that. It's just so...unengaging? Did anyone see that "can you spot Garrett?" one? He was basically right in the middle of the picture. Yeah.
He was the first thing I saw in the picture xD, and it wasn't even full sized

Yeah, I just browsed their Facebook page for the 1st time, it's pretty awful - it's like someone high up at EM said "we've really got to get on this social media thing!" and then gave the job to some intern.
As I've said before, I think the PR people at EM are turning to their ten year old kids for ideas. I.E. 'What's yours is mine'. The FB page is just another case in point.

I work for a company heavily involved in video games. Our "social media" team is a pair of airheads (one of them is over 40) who know literally nothing about video games despite being required to tweet about them all day and manage multiple facebook pages about them. They are constantly asking me inane questions like "What does FPS stand for?" after a year on the job. :nono:
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the same situation is true over at Eidos.

Good grief. :(

I guess if you work in PR you don't really have to know anything about the actual product your company sells. Scary and sad.
I commend your self-control, Taffer; I would have throttled both of them by now.

I have a suggestiion .. don't have 4 years of silence after announcing your next title.
Now to be fair, Esme, we do get valuable information and updates from the EM's assigned Community Representative to these parts
all the time. In fact, I'm expecting one to come in any minute now.
Yup....any minute now.
(Wait! Is that it!? Is it?!! Nope, nope...it was just something about penises.)

Yeah, in a way though, I feel bad for Adam/B1skit, everytime he does have news to share, it's not exactly what we're looking for:
"Hey guys, breaking news! Stephen Russell will not be returning for the role of Garrett!"
"This just in! New Thief will use 3rd person views for City Watch takedowns and other various cool ninja moves!"
"Hot off the wire! We'll be delaying the release of gameplay footage because basically the game's a frickin' mess and viewing actual in-game footage would just reinforce that fact to everyone on the planet!"

OI!!!
Age is no indicator of gaming cred
Just realised I've been 55 for all of 50 minutes
I was playing video games before FPS games were invented
