Credit where it's due - Eidos M did start talking about Thief and introducing folks to their design and making process. I'm not sure they gauged it right or that exposing their design and making process hasn't just revealed some bizarreness and incompetence, but for a little while they opened the door slightly and let us glimpse a sneak peek at the purple & chintz mess they'd made of the living room.
Anyways, for an industry with an inferiority complex that makes itself feel big with NDAs and other wankery, it ain't gonna be an easy switch, good luck I say. Just don't ask me to hold my breath.

Well, I'll believe them... when they publish the source code of Thief 1&2:cheeky:.

Well EM started showing stuff and people here and on Eidos forums had a freakout.
I'm not surprised they've closed ranks. Are any of you?

The company will focus on tablets and mobile.
Good luck getting on that particular bandwagon.

And, finally, it will overhaul large-scale, long-term development to increase asset turnover (i.e. get games out the door).
Aww... but it has been such fun waiting five years for a new Thief. Especially with all the information we have had during that time.

Matsuda concluded the strategy reformation presentation by saying, "I think it is necessary to review the definition of 'AAA Title,' and we need to pursue a new type of blockbuster title, in addition to the conventional-type of blockbuster."
Wait, what?

Concerning the stuff posted on Fb, they really need to get someone new to handle that. It's just so...unengaging? Did anyone see that "can you spot Garrett?" one? He was basically right in the middle of the picture. Yeah.

I wonder what kind of salary the person who came up with these startling revelations is pulling in?

Yeah, I just browsed their Facebook page for the 1st time, it's pretty awful - it's like someone high up at EM said "we've really got to get on this social media thing!" and then gave the job to some intern.

Empty platitudes....
And the saddest part is a lot of people are liking them.

"We're no longer in an age where customers are left in the dark until a product is completed," said Matsuda. "We need to shift to a business model where we frequently interact with our customers for our products that are in development and/or prior to being sold, have our customers understand games under development, and finally make sure we develop games that meet their expectations."We've been telling them to do this for years...yet, is it too late?...Share your feelings.
I have a suggestiion .. don't have 4 years of silence after announcing your next title.
