Plus it completely fucks any claim it might have to being a canonical prequel, but hey.
Or maybe it's like dayglo socks in the 80s? "The cyber renaissance? We do not speak of it. It never happened. Next question."

Renaissance inspired dosen't mean top hats and gas powered legs. They pretty clearly say the words 'near future' and 'cyberpunk' in there.
I'm personally not too hopeful. I think it will be like Invisible War.. An okay game on its own, but not a real sequel to Deus Ex. I just hope they don't turn the plot into some kind of nip cartoon 'cyberpunk'.

Yeah, I know the difference between steampunk and cyberpunk, thanks very much you patronizing ass. 'Gas-powered' may not have been technically precise to what mechanical limbs of the near future might have as functional components. However, the paragraph was more about being precise to the feckless character of Dan Brown's writings.

Who is Dan Brown? Why does it matter?
The last big Renaissance came on the heels of a plague killing lots of poor people. Which is pretty much where Deus Ex leaves off. Your bashing Square for logically following the story of the first one, at least on the broad stroke? And then trying to draw connections between the idea of a technological renaissance and some hack writer you don't like?
It sounds more like you just want to hate it, and any reason you can concoct will do.

You
do know Deus Ex 3 is supposed to be a prequel, right?

If it sucks it sure AIN'T gonna be cus of some tenuous dan brown connection, muthafucka.
And Sheldon Pacotti's contracting there. Having one of the lead writers of DX onboard's gonna mean something.

Don't come in if you having!

You caught me on top hap inventing. Easily up there with dragging up the name of some writer nobodies heard of to have a reason to complain about a video game I dislike.

So tepid enthusiasm for a presequel and goofing about with a household name who moved 80 million copies and has been adapted by Hollywood is now the same as outright fabrication (there is an entendre, there, surely)?
P.S. 'Nobodies' does not equal 'nobody has', or even 'nobody's'.:D
P.P.S. Drag, drag, drag!
