I just wish that sommetimes they'd get over their whole persecution thing and acknowledge that they are a part of the UK.
I know this is off topic, but wasnt there a poll recently which showed the majority of us Scots want to be independent? Why cant they just let us be independent and let us get on with it. In experience, You will find that most countrys in the "UK" other than England dont really recongnise being part of it. But then again, i really dont understant all the politics and stuff.
Back on topic, our school (which is one of the worst in Scotland, im not proud to admit) via SportScotland, recieved loads of Sports equipment and a new astroturf, and our school is badly under funded, so i hope the london olympics doesnt effect sports funding for our school to much, because we badly need it!

I'm not sure that most Scots want to be independent; the people that I know don't, but they're mainly in East Lothian. They are happy with devolution. However I bet that the SNP will make huge gains in the next Scottish elections, mainly because they're a protest vote.

If the Scots* want to be independent, they ought to elect an SNP government then.
*I'm normally loath to use this term, because the Scottish are just as mongrelised as the rest of us in Britain, and the idea of some homogeneous Scottish identity is laughable

Does the Scottish flag fly at the Olympics? For that matter does it fly at the U.N? My Grandad's take on this...he being Glasgwegian.
I think I have missed that the Olympics are massively costing more than anyone was first told?
I hope they succeed and get a much needed boost to the regeneration of the east end. Let's hope Glasgow can build sustainable facilities and housing for the future of the city and also double their tax contributions to fund yet another New Labour Folly. This has to be knocked on the heid. People of Glasgow revolt!
The name of the game is how Glasgow, Wales and Englands' regions can contribute to making it a success and ensuring they get a piece of that sucess. I hope

Unless you feel that your entire political and cultural identity is desperately tied to the UK (hi, Northern Ireland Unionists!).

In the majority of cases SNP is a protest vote, not a vote for independence.
Anyway Tommy Sheridan ftw
