When the player makes it into Chernobyl Interior, there's this yammering that keeps repeating throughout much of that level ...
Can a native of Ukraine or someone who knows the language translate what was it saying? I had a feeling it's either some form of taunting or a distorted enticing call by the Monolith.
On the whole, I seriously enjoyed the game. However, I think I'll take a break from it, or at least a break from exploring the dark interior sections which I am honestly frightened of. Strelok's Hideout and X18 wore out my nerves terribly (probably because I had no nightvision then); X16 wasn't scary and Scorcher was tense only because of anticipation of trouble.
The outdoors I can live with and actually thive on (because I can always fall back on my last ditch defense: RUN!); I'm planning to reload a savegame just before point-of-no-return and go back to explore the outdoors more and do more sidequests.
And I should have gotten a new SEVA suit before I commenced the final no-turning-back section (I like the Scientists' suits cos the night vision is in clear blue as opposed to the blurry green view by some of the other suits); my suit was already badly torn up by then; radiation's the least of my worries in Chernobyl interior ... those Monolith goons were shooting me full of holes.

from what i've been told, it's the monolith beckoning you to it.

Yeah, but what does it says?
Maybe it's my immagination (I'm Pole, so there..) but I thought I understood something like "You will get what you have deserved" or... "I believe in your resurrection".

Well it surely says "come to me" once or twice, but that's about all the people around me could make out...

from what i remember:
Come to me human
Your path has come to an end
Your dreams will come true
All will get what they deserve (want?)
given what the monolith actually gives you, as well as what the room in the tarkovsky movie gives those who enter it, i'd say "deserves" fits better.

Yup it's deserve. I don't speak russian (ukrenian?) but some of the stuff is pretty similar to polish :D
He also says something about watching your life I believe. And of course "come to me"

I'm ukrainian myself and yes, I can understand Polish pretty much even though I never learned it. Haven't played the game yet, so can't help with translation.

Poor guy too, if you dont achieve crap within the game you get cruddy endings. My favorite is "I want to be rich!"
The others are dumb and leave you clue less.
The immortality is gross to me though.
Bad memories!

I found that deep voice really creepy.
One thing I liked about the different language was that I can pretend that the characters are always saying something different,However I wish I could understand the story the Stalker told around the camp fire that was so darned funny.:erg: Were they laughing at ME?:erm:
