I never really tried to ghost SC games, I guess because I found the weapons a little bit too much fun to use - while still remaining relatively stealthy. It's not like in Thief where the fun weapons make a hell of a lot of noise and totally blow your cover...
Anyway, no game's more to try to ghost (with the obvious exception of the target) than Hitman 2 - while trying to collect all the weapons on offer for your tool shed.

Malleus, I haven't gone back and redid the levels yet, so your confirmation on the CIA server room is encouraging.
I did however just passed the Chinese Embassy level, 0 KOs, no alerts. It isn't really possible to do this level otherwise, and in the latter portion of it your mission is over if anyone gets even a little alerted. It was a short and even somewhat easy level. Just lots of timing and patience.
Now I'm onto the Abbatoir level, and I remember from playing SS1 the firts time through, this one was tough. And I wasn't trying to ghost it then... I'm up to the landmine area now, which is annoying.
P.S.: Updated my stats in my post on the previous page. Hopefully someone else would like to partake in the challenge, that would be fun.

It should be fine (0 KO, no alert), until you reach the freezing chambers (or rather the three guards in the corridor).
EDIT: Yay! I managed to finish the Defence Ministry with only two KOs (the driver, and the colonel). And without alerting anyone (yes, the guard in Nikoladze's office was only suspicious, not combat alerted).

How did you manage to not fully alert the soldier in Nikoladze's office?

That's about how I shot the glass as well, though more into the glass itself, like into the upper-most right corner. I'll have to try it your way, but alarming the guard fully, does that count against ghosting? He couldn't see me anyway, as I was above the window.

I think the trick is, that you have to shoot into the window frame, so that the bullet doesn't impact inside the room.

Well, since we haven't defined any "official" ghosting rules for SC, it's up to you to decide if it's against your personal rules or not. I think that if the guard didn't see you, then it's OK.

Gotcha. Makes sense. Didn't occur to me at the time, but this definitely makes it easier to ghost this room.

By the way, I managed to sneak past the problematic guard in the Oilrig mission.
Are you talking about the last one (that I had trouble with), or the one in the beginning, after the first explosion?

I was talking about the one in the beginning, after the first explosion.
Though I ghosted the last one too. It was a bit trickier than I remembered. You have to wait for him to run to the right side, then go down the stairs and position yourself behind the column, so that when he turns around he doesn't see you. Then, as he runs to the left side, you must walk behind him to the left side, carefully staying out of his FOV, and positioning youself to his left side, so that he doesn't see you when he starts turning/running back to the right side. When he ran to the right side, you can pass through the door.
The problem is, that when you go down the stairs he stops shooting, and just runs back and forth between the two sides - so you have very little time to act...

I will redo the levels I had trouble with once I finish the game, then move onto Splinter Cell 2.
It would be great if we could actually ghost the game, but there are still unavoidable KOs you must do that aren't built into the game, like the guard in the toilet guarding Ivan.
