I see why a lot of folks elsewhere <3 Chaos Theory and think it's the best of the lot
Me too. I think it's the best game ever. It's amazing how I keep finding new stuff from it even after all the time I've spent playing it.
I just bought it from the xb marketplace so it's always on the HD, and noticed something I don't remember hearing before: when at the first level you enter the torture chamber, and choose to shoot at the guys there, Lambert says it's not wise to leave NATO-rounds lying around the place. Huh? Was this in the original, or have I always chosen a different way to solve it before?
Also, I've DA on original xbox (and wii), and although I've not finished the new xb360 version yet, I feel it is better than the original version. Man I hated ghosting the tanker.

It was always there.

It was always there.
I knew I could trust on the knowledge of you SC gurus :-)
But secretly I hoped they had added new content for the "re-release". Oh well.

I had always played my Splinter Cell games on PC. Then Chaos Theory shipped, and I didn't have a Shader Model 3.0 card, so I couldn't play it well (framerate was low), nor w/all the graphics on.
I recently got back into buying games for my original XBOX. I bought Splinter Cell, SC:CT, and SC: DA, w/plans to get Pandora Tomorrow on my next trip to GameStop.
I was INCREDIBLY impressed w/Double Agent. I sat down and played it and it only exclusively until I completed it, which is something I RARELY do. I usually play a couple different games @ once, and only finishing the better games.
I recently started Chaos Theory, and was pleasantly surprised. Several of the new gameplay additions and gadgets that I had grown to love in DA, were actually in CT first. CT is a great looking, game w/incredible animations and sound. The story is a bit weaker than the last-gen DA, but it has never been SC's strong point. I am currently ~1/2 done w/it, and play when I get some time, and the TV is free.
Also, I was inspired by this thread (back when I was a lurker) when it was started, and ghosted the first game right along w/you. Glad to see you guys back.:thumb:

Malleus, is the whole Double Agent on Youtube? I mean the Xbox version? Is it very different from the PC version? Do you know if there are full videos of other non-PC levels anywhere?

Dude, you're fucking awesome

I've enjoyed all SCs, but moreso the last two, specially DA on the Xbox (360's very cool too, though a bit more linear).
Good stuff.
Hope they don't throw stealth out the window with the next SC game (Sam Fisher being a fugitive and all with possibly no reach to high-end tech).
:)

I wonder if Ubi would release like a 10th Anniversary edition of SC1. They could reinsert all the extra levels (Kola), including the Power Plant back into the game. That would be great. Maybe even integrate stuff from SC Essentials. The result would be like an Extended Director's Cut of a movie.
P.S.: Proposed this at the (

maybe in 10 years there will be a splinter cell: re-silenced ;)
