So for some strange reason I felt like re-ghosting SC1. Malleus, you still around, buddy?

In fact I'm replaying Deus Ex right now, along numerous new releases (Kane and Lynch, etc.), so I might not get right to it, but I really want to. Never did get to ghosting SC2, though... I can't get over that uber-jagginess in night-vision.

Well, I didn't get back to SC1 at that time. No real time to play games as much, but I do have about a dozen installed at the moment.
Any news on a new Splinter Cell?
I really should re-ghost SC1. That's one sweet game. They should re-release a Special Edition of it :)

Man! I was thinking about sending you a PM these days. :D
Telepathy works. :)
Anyway no new info on the franchise. SCC is supposed to be released in the 2009-2010 fiscal year (April 1, 2009 to March 30, 2010). I don't really care about it anymore though.
Anyway I got into the mood for some Splinter Cell some time ago, I installed DA, but pissed me off so much I ended up rageuninstalling it. I did end up installing and playing the first one though (on my weaker PC, P4 1,7GHz, Gef4Ti4200 - had to set the graphics to low :) ). Still a great game.

Must be mass telepathy - I picked up CT & DA recently, and was raging at that stupid bleeping bathhouse in CT, and the first place I thought to look for advice was this thread :D Ironically, I got the better card, and then the fan on it crapped out, and I had to get a different replacement. SC looks great on either, though!
Bathhouse - Right now, I'm actually playing it through and KO'ing everyone to try and figure out where the 2 times I'm getting ID'd as an intruder are. I think it's probably in that last section with the firefight & 2 groups of NV guys, so I figured choke everyone else, and that should narrow it down, heh. I think I can get it down to just the 4 guys in the furnace room for KO's, but unless I want my head to asplode, I don't think I'll be pulling off Malleus' total ghost on that one ....
I see why a lot of folks elsewhere <3 Chaos Theory and think it's the best of the lot - all the familiar sneaking about, storyline worthy of a good book or movie, plenty of Grim/Lambert vs Sam zingers. "Did you just tell me to win one for the Gipper?" :laff:
I'll try and remember to pop in and let you know what I think of DA later, after I sort out the bathhouse and ISDF on expert in CT. I'm sure I'll end up playing Conviction, even if it is more Hitman than Splinter Cell, simply for the fact that I've gotten attached to ol' Sam while skulking about saving the world from itself. :)

Maybe this: When you eavesdrop on the meeting between Shetland and the japanese guy, from the vent shaft, if you stay at the end of the vent, Shetland will spot you. It doesn't mean anything in the game (his behavior is scripted) but it will register as an "identified as intruder". Once the meeting starts, retreat a little bit back in the vent, it should be fine.
Anyway, you'll have a good time with DA if 1. you can stomach (or even like) the story 2. the straight-from-the-xbox360 interface doesn't bother you 3. you don't run into any glithces or bugs. I wasn't lucky with any of these.

I got lucky as far as no bugs and glitches. The storyline was okay, but I hated some levels. On the other hand, a few of the levels were classic, on par with SC1.
I haven't kept up with Conviction news since the release of the first trailer, where they show Sam walking around in a crowd. Anything since then?

What I did for DA was get the last-gen version (original XBOX). It was superior in story and gameplay/levels.

I watched most of it on youtube, and I have to agree. The coop levels looked like fun too. Too bad I don't own a gaming console, and don't plan to.
