@michaelg
Good job!
I think you have to KO two guards for keycodes in the Presidential palace. And also, I KOed everyone in the library battle too - the only other way around that part is to run past them, but I prefer to neutralize them if they know where I am by script.
Check my stats on the second page (PT stats on the third page).
PT is more ghost friendly than SC1, there are only a few really tricky spots.
And yes, CT is not as good as the first two, but worth playing through, at least for the Hokkaido and the Bathhouse levels - those are awesome.

Thanks Malleus.
And your right about the Palace. I had forgotten about the guard near the bushes to get the code for the gate, and then the other code once your inside and get through the door at the top of the stairs.
Oh and the very end after killing Nikoladze, I also wasted a couple of those guys when you have to open the last door there. That very last battle was tough. I got a couple of them with sticky shockers, but one would always come through the other door and get me, so I ended up offing them.
The hostage part was just whacked. I tried for a while to KO them, but once I decided it wasn't worth it, it was a lot of fun blowing them away seeing as I had been so careful with the game before that.
I had a ball and PT seems just as good with even better graphics IMO. It does seem a bit easier, although I had a tough time getting past the guards at the bottom of the stairs after saving Shetland. I've only played the game once before, and my memory is so bad, (thank God), that I had totally forgotten where to go, and already had to KO one guard.
I've decided no reloads in this one, unless I die of course. I'm still going to try like hell to get through not killing, but if it happens it happens. I reloaded so many times in the first one, that I felt like I was cheating after a while lol. So, more realistic this time, although if I remember right I'll be doing a lot of dying!

You can climb the balcony in the dining room, and get behind them and to the end of the level. They don't even know you were there this way. Keep your eyes open for alternatives routes - it'll help you a lot if you want to avoid the guards. This is especially true for PT.

I must disagree that SC2 has better graphics than SC1. For one, SC2 has no anti-aliasing, you can't even force it. WHile SC1 looks smooth and clean - just beautiful.

I don't know. PT looks very good to me. When you first start the game I just wandered around looking at stuff with the sun setting. Gorgeous. Also climbing down the trellis after Shetland, and wading through the water on that first level looks good to me.
As far as AA, I couldn't find any way to enable it in either game, although I would love to. Both games need it, at least on my comp. Course I am using an ATI card. (X700 Pro), and have heard there's a problem with shading with these cards.
Having said that though, I don't like the nightvision look in either game, especially PT, and try to avoid it like the plague, which often results in my dying. My comp also doesn't like thermal vision for some reason and sometimes gets a bit "floaty" when using it. I like the controls in the original better as well. I have tried to fiddle with the mouse settings, but aiming doesn't seem quite as precise as SC1.
As far as alternative routes, you're right. There were a lot of parts in SC that I wasn't aware of until playing this last time. I had no idea you could go through the dining room. The game is pretty linear, so sometimes I tend to forget that the devs do throw in some alternative routes at times.

There are no AA settings in SC1 but it can be forced by using your videocard's control panel. I have an Nvidia 6800U, and turning AA and AF up to the max makes the game look awesome, like it was released recently, not in 2001. With SC2, the game will ignore any forced settings.
I can post some screenshots later.
P.S.: I play 98% of it in night-vision mode ;)

Actually, if you force AA in SCPT, it makes the edge of the shadows smoother, but nothing else. Useful if you have lego shadows (on ATI cards).
Btw, I have the four SC5 concept arts that have been leaked recently, if you're interested. Nothing from the game, no worthwile info, just some moody drawings.
