No way. When I tried that, they shot sticky cameras the second they see them (and they have infra-, night, whatnot-vision, so there is no place to hide). You are either lying or not human ;)
I'm not lying, I'm just crazy. :D Using the sticky cams for distraction means you have to shoot the cam to a place where guards can't shoot them. Obviously. There's a toolbox near the fence door when you enter the furnace room - if you shoot the cam behind that, the guard will just stare at it. And you cannot hide in darkness, obviously, but you can hide behind objects - and if the guard is staring at the cam near the door, you can make your move behind him (this is how you avoid the first guard after the first bomb - you climb up to the catwalk behind him while he's watching the cam). After that, you move to the second bomb, frequently switching to the cam and "make noise". After the second bomb, the second wave of guards arrive (2 men) - you can distract them with the first cam, but first guard will most likely to start moving by now. You have to shoot a cam somewhere under catwalk for further distraction. Frequently make noise with the cams, while moving on to the third bomb. After defusing it, jump down one level, and position yourself so that as soon as you climb to the catwalk, you can move to the door. The fourth guard comes in - shoot a sticky cam to a wall far form you, and make noise - then climb the catwalk and silently move to the door, enter it and close it. That's it, no detection, no KO.
I can assure you that it's plausible if you have the patience for it, and the necessary knowledge of how the enemy AI works and reacts to the environment.

Believe me when I say I have plenty of both. The thing is, I believe, that you cannot "reconnect" to a camera after you close the "vision view" for it in xbox-version. So, can't make noice with it after closing the feed. Nor moving while in feed.
I tried that place for so many times (meaning days, if not weeks) it made me feel like it would be a mighty good idea to slit my wrists. ;)
But OK, I believe you as you gave such a detailed description. :)
Although I won't be playing that mission. Ever. Again.

I'm not sure, but I think you should be able to do so. I don't remember hearing anywhere that it would be a PC only thing.

Allright. It did surprise me back then when someone told me he did it - I also thought it was impossible.

Well, I'm kinda done with the SCs too (except fot CT coop, maybe) - I'll check this topic though as long as some other maniacs do. :) I think I've got as much out of the games as I can (ghosting, and everything). And that new one (Double Agent) looks like a consolitis infected pile of garbage, so I don't think I'd spend that much time with it...

Getting through without KOs is the hardest, but it's possible. You have to use sticky cams to distract the guards. I've done that level 100% with all 0s in the stats...:cheeky:
You're insane! :wot:
Not getting hit while knocking out those triggerhappy guys took me enough effort, but
not getting noticed by them? I am in awe.
What's the button for reconnecting to cameras, by the way?

5
Basically, as a vision mode. 1-EEV, 2-NV, 3-Thermal, 4-EMF, 5-CamNet.

I have climbed through the vents to get to the 3 soldiers underneath me just before the meat section after finding out where the prisoners and Grinko are. The only way I could think to get rid of the three guards was to toss a smoke grenade down there, which I did taking out all of them. Hope you guys know where I mean.
Anyway, I'm now going into the meat locker and I take out the first guy with a sticky shocker, but now I only have one left, and no air foils, so I'm pretty much screwed here. I took out the next guy and made a mad dash to the turret and disabled that, but I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to continue with no kills. There are soldiers everywhere as I found out as I died while dying trying to run through the next area.
I hate to ask for help, but I've gotten this far with only 1 kill and this is driving me nuts. I went to a walkthrough but it says just kill them all so that's no help. I was thinking I could toss a frag grenade into the corner but I'll probably hit someone.
There have been quite a few parts of the game thus far where I thought I couldn't get any further w/no kills, and always figured out something, but I think I may have used up my non lethal tools too early in this mission.
Any ideas? And thanks.

This may be considered an exploit, but did you know you could knock people out with a camera if you hit them in the head? Also, abuse quicksave/quickload.
But man, if you're in trouble here, wait until you get to defend the hostages.

I had no idea you could do that. I will try it, and I suppose it's not really an exploit. Right? Haha.
And yes, when I got to this area this time around, I remembered that part. I think I may have to abandon my no kill philosophy, although I hate to. This is my second time through the game, and I remember it took me forever to get throught that part the first time, and I was pissed because even
with killing people I thought it was insanely hard and thought the game unfair.
And yes, I do abuse the save/reload thing. That's one of the few things I don't like about the game. There is a lot of trial and error gameplay.

Malleus and I discussed the meat locker portion of SC1 extensively. Check back posts. There were even screenshots.

Thx Poroshin.
I've actually finished SC1 and moved on the SC PT now.
As I said before, I'm not as good as you guys. I did finish the meat level with no kills however once I got to rescuing the hostages I saw no way to get through that with no kills, much less ghosting it!
I tried for about a half hr to figure out a way get that done w/no kills, finally lost my patience, and started tossing frag grenades lol. That did the trick :ebil:.
I did get through the Presidential Palace w/no kills, or even knockouts, until the damn confrontation w/Nikoladze in the cellar which I had forgotten about.
Anyways just a word of thanks to you guys as I had forgotten how good these games were. I tried Chaos Theory but even though less linear, I didn't find it as good as SC1 or PT and only got about half way through it. Maybe playing the first two will spark my interest in that again as well.
