Well it's been slow but I'm almost done.
I can't seem to ghost the library portion very well. As I descend on the little elevator, it's very bright, and the action music starts playing regardless of what I do. Moreover, if I run and find a completely dark spot, a guards will run around but eventually find me and shoot me dead.
What to do... :(
Malleus on 24/8/2006 at 18:49
Well, you can't ghost that part - the guards simply know where you are. So it's KO time (or Killing time, if you're not that patient... :) )

I see. Well, time for sticky shockers ;)
Malleus on 24/8/2006 at 22:08
Careful with those - IIRC you don't have enough for all the guards in the library + basement, so you'll have to be tricky there. And btw, don't forget the Kola Cell missions, before you consider SC finished. ;)

You guys are ghosting SC1?
I had a tough time playing the game KILLING people. I found it a very difficult game, but this could be a reason to go back to it. (plus I'm older and wiser now haha), See if I can use my brain instead of brawn.
I've played Chaos Theory but never finished it. I thought I would like it more because it was a bit less linear than 1 and Pandora, but I actually liked the original and Pandora better.
I just finished SS2 for the first time in 4 years again, and just finishing Deus Ex yet again, (I think the fifth time), and it seems most of the newer games suck, so thanks for the idea guys.

Welcome aboard! It's a great way to play this game. It is linear but that's part of it's charm, for me at least. Plus ghosting it is hard and makes the linearity not that big an issue.

That's because you shouldn't. ;)

Well, I wasn't trying to kill people lol.
Just that I'm not that good of a gamer I guess. Although since that game I have become a bit better at it.
Not even sure if I'll try to ghost it, but gonna give it a shot anyway. I'm just glad I saw this thread, as I loved SC1 and Pandora Tomorrow as well and had forgotten about this one. I just found it buried under a bunch of other games with about an inch of dust all over it. But since I've only played the game one time before, ghosting it could be a bit of a problem.
Even if I don't however, it's still going to be fun just playing it again.

Not sure if anyone is still reading this thread or not, but wanted to let the people know that are ghosting this game, that you have my admiration, and you're better gamers than me.
I started SC1 and tried ghosting it, however never made it past the first mission. :tsktsk: So I've decided to allow myself knockouts with no kills which I've managed to do with the exception of one guy. And that one guy snuck up on me. I had no choice. Really!
I just finished the mission with Dougherty and I'd like to know how you guys did that without at least KO'ing someone! I mean you're carrying around a guy on your back for Christs sake!
Anyway, kudos to you guys.

That's what I did too, for SC1. No kills except for Nikoladze, that part where soldiers rush in to excecute the hostages you have to defend, and the library fight.
In that mission to kidnap Dougherty, you HAVE to knock out at least the guy near your van. There may be more, but it's been a long time since I've played it.
Malleus on 11/9/2006 at 10:44
In the CIA mission, you have to KO three people - one guy overlooking the server room (he has a keycode), Dougherty, and last guy at the van.
@michaelg
And about sneaking out with Dougherty on your back: it's all about timing. You need to observe the patrol routes, look for dark places you can hide (and observe the guards), and make your move just at the right time. When I first tried it, I didn't know if it was possible or not, but when I made it to the van with the guy on my back ... I was like "Holy shit, I did it!" :D
Btw, I don't know about poroshin, but I use quicksave/load an awful lot. I'm basically a quicksave whore. So don't be afraid to load the game if you make mistakes...
