This is again not about the Challenge - but I do hope to continue it.
This is apparently coming out in Europe (Gogamer has it in stock for US customers though):

http://www.take2.co.za/covers/big/upload/1530932.jpgI don't think there are any exclusive exclusives, but my guess is it's two or three DVDs, which is better than the way the originals of the first two games were released.

Well, since I have all three SC games already, so I'm not interested in this one. Sounds like a good idea btw, much like EA's C&C First Decade, now people can have all SC games in one package.

Poroshin, any chance you're getting back to the Ghost Challenge in the near future? I mean, some time during the summer ... just curious...

I'd be interested if it lacked starforce now.

Yes. In fact hopefully soon. I know I really kinda stopped, but it's mainly due to that last part that I was stuck in.
Now I just bought myself a new widescreen monitor. Will be interesting playing the game in widescreen, so I'll be looking to getting back into it soon.
Jeshibu, the first two games don't have StarForce so you can freely participate in the Challenge, keep Malleus company while I return to form :)

Oh, I know. I bought all of them, even the small addon for the first game.
The third is really good, and I'd just be interested in having a version without starforce. (keeping the disc in the drive is just annoying)
I'll try and ghost the first mission of CT sometime this weekend probably. Ghosting the first game though, ugh. I had a hard enough time keeping it non-lethal, though that did work most of the time. The only time I killed was in the combat sequences (library and abbatoir), because I just couldn't be arsed. Hey, they've seen you already, right? Ghosting would then probably entail them never living to tell people how you look, at least in my mind.
What does ghosting say about IFF tampering, by the way?
I haven't tried much of Pandora Tomorrow yet, it just felt off. Is the single player worth it?
Oh, and HI MALLEUS!

Hi!
Ghosting SC1 and PT is quite a challenge, so if you want some time in front of your monitor, that's a good way to start :). PT's single player is just as good as the other's. The only problem with it is that it's short, but the missions and the story makes up for it.
Ghosting CT the same way as you would ghost SC1 and PT (no Kills, no KOs, only when necessary, and not be seen unless scripted event gives away your location) would be just too easy. So (quoting myself from here)
Quote:
I made up some really tough ghosting rules (not just no KO ... that has been done anyway), which are going to make the game really challenging, and fun.
I also said to poroshin that

I'll hold the info back until you're into SCCT, if you don't mind. I think it's better if you find out what you can and can't do yourself. The stats might spoil things.
So, Jeshibu, if you're interested in the tough CT ghost challenge I'll post the rules here. Whatever stat you post later on, please put it in a spoiler tag, so it won't spoil others' (poroshin's, ATM) fun, when they get to it.

By the way, how did you get past the guard in Nikoladze's office (in the Defence Ministry)?
Hey all, just dropping by again for a few moments. :D
Anyways, I haven't read through the whole thread, but an easy way to get past this part requires thinking outside the box. ;)
After you break the glass, you can either: A) Knock out the guard sitting in the chair, or B) Shoot glass, run around and hide, then shoot out lights and distract the guard...
But when the soldiers come rushing in, I did the following:
You know the ledge right outside the glass window? Well, just lightly drop off that ledge and Sam will grab onto it. Then just stay hanging there, and the soldiers will waltz around looking for you, but they're not smart enough (apparently :p ) to look outside/down the window.
The guards then eventually leave. :D

Thanks, Dot, though I've already completed that part (and in fact the whole SC and SCPT ghosting too).;) And btw, option A is not an option, since knocking out guards is not allowed unless it's absolutely necessary.

Woops. Not even close to last weekend, but I started and managed to finish the first mission today.
No great feat here, but I'll still tell you/boast about the harder parts. Very minor Splinter Cell 3 spoilers ahead;
The two guards outside where you have to cross a wooden bridge attached to the fort walls. Very annoying indeed, and I finally managed to get by hanging from the side, getting as far as I could before their conversation ends, and then climbing up again and making a mad dash for the other side of the bridge.
I eventually managed to not get spotted by doing some weird run/crouch-run dance that was simply born from frustration.
Forgot to scan the weapons crate that was there though. Damn. I used the pistol's secondary fire to temporarily disable the light there so I could scan in peace, but it got me a reaction similar to "Huh. Musta been da wind!". That's fine by ghosting rules, right?
Then there was the guy patrolling in the narrow rock passage. Never got a splitjump to work there before, but lo, it worked when I really needed it.
The knockout was the guard at the top of the lighthouse. If I remember correctly, you had to clear it before you could be picked up by the chopper.
also is it "born from frustration" "borne of frustration" or some combination of the two?
