There was something that made SC great?

Well, when you compare it to the sequels, it looks like genius.

Erm ... guys ... erm ... any progress?

Been a bit busy this week, haven't played any games at all. Will definitely continue my ghosting of SC1 (I'm currenly still where I stopped) very soon.

It's been a while, yeah, but I got back in last night. Didn't play a whole lot, though.
I entered the embassy perfectly fine, and everything was smooth until I reached the place where the three guards are destroying the computers. I did this section numerous times, but it's impossible to ghost it. I had to resort to sticky shockers here. Then right after another problematic area: the large main room with the Chinese flags and the turrets. I figured how to do it, but it involved shooting lights out, like in the area just before, where you come to the broken staircase and a guard is blocking the view - here too I shot a light to displace him.
So I've stopped just after I passed the first turret, and got up onto the second floor.

There are three problematic parts on that level. The first is the "shooting the computers" situation, the second is just before you (passing through the retinal scanner locked door), and the third is the warehouse. But it's not that annoying:cool:

I just get a little peeved when a level can't be 100% ghosted. And what was the retinal scanner that you say I passed? The keypad you had to bypass by using thermal vision?

The retinal scanner is at the second level of the main hall. You know, a guard and a colonel comes in, and the colonel lets the guard through, and stays there. Don't forget that you only have to touch the three guys who are shooting the computers. The rest of the level can be ghosted...

Haven't had a lot of time recently, but did play for a bit last night. Just went past the retinal scanner. This whole area has been pretty tough.
