If I pull up too soon, he sees me. I'm not sure at which point it's "safe"...
You should do it when he's about near you, as I remember. I guess you'll have to experiment with it. This level has some moments like this, so be prepared...

Not couch-run, but rather roll to the next corridor. The guard in the other room will hear it, but will not come out searching, just walk around inside. Just checked it.
EDIT: Yes, that's the time to pull yourself up. I just checked it, and indeed you cannot perform the move earlier... (wow, it's a bit easier to navigate with "high effect detail"....)

Finally passed through. Any tips for the second room? :D
What do you mean by "navigate"?

In the first part, I KOed two guys in the second freezing chamber (there are three guards in that room, and you have to climb on a steel "beam" to reach the next room without being shot by the turret) - I had to KO the guy in the middle, and guy close to the aforementioned turret, because they saw me climbing on the steel "beam".
That was the only room I had to KO two people in the whole level. At forst I experimented with KOing only the middle guard, but you don't climb the beam fast enough to pass the other one undetected. So, KO the aforementioned two guys, and climb to the next room...

It's easier to distinguish objects from one another in thermal vision with effects detail set to high.

IS it impossible to ghost this room?

If you want to avoid turret fire upon entering the next room, you HAVE to climb the beam. And those soldiers see you on it (not to mention that the guy in the next room becomes rather nervous when he hears the turret firing - so even if you passed them undetected, the turret will reveal you).
So, _I think_ it is impossible to ghost it...

Too bad the guards see through it fine....
The thermal vision looks different only because my effects detail is set to low (it's a weaker PC with the Nvidia card). So just set it to low, and check it out. It's more blurred than in high detail.
Btw, I think I'll have to go now, it's 2:55 AM here - and a student hostel room, with everyone sleeping except me...
Cya tomorrow

I have an ati 9800 PRO. This game was developed as we mentioned earlier, for XBOX, which has an Nvidia chipset. There are lots of things lost in translation I hear on ATI cards. The patch helps, but it's far from perfect. For instance, it only lets's me set my shadows to the 2nd highest resolution, not the max.....it's a big deal in SC, cause this game is all about the shadows.
BTW, Jesper Kyd was just signed on to do the soundtrack for the new Hitman game again!!! His tunes have really helped help give Hitman the image it has. Great stuff.
