Well, I wasted some time ... and came up with a fairly crippled solution. :p
(
http://www.gnartsch.de/Thief-FM/beta/Thief2-splash.zip) Here you go.
Unzip the archive directly into your Thief2 directory.
Included are a batch file, an executable and the loading screen (in case it is no longer in your directory).
After installing a FM via DarkLoader or GarrettLoader, you must launch the game by double-clicking on the batch file,
which will then show the current splashscreen (e.g. the one from Calendras Legacy) for about 3 seconds before launching the real game.
This will NOT work in any way with FMSel, though.

Hey thanks Gnartsch. Not the exact same but A for the effort. At long as I can veiw the files thats ok I guess. I so remember when I still lived with mumsy and dadsy that I would fix a light snack head to the basement snuggled up and starting a great FM. The splash screen always gave me a feeling of serene as I admired each detail on it, knowing that the real treat is yet to come :)

I have never, ever seen these splash screens displayed by the game.

Yeah, that splashscreen for Thief2 does not look all that familiar to me either.
But most certainly I have seen Calendras splashscreen in the past.
And sure enough Purah - and the aothers - would not have wasted any time on it if you could never see it.

With a prepatched version of T2 you will not have the splashscreen because it eliminates the need to have the CD in the drive. It most definetly exists
