when i go to pick a spell from my menu it asks- do you want to delete this spell from your magic menu? so i say no, but then i can't ready the spell that i want, or any spell besides magic itemsand scrolls. very frustrating when your a mage.

I think this is suppose to happen when you are holding down the control button (or maybe shift? I can't remember:confused: ). For some reason, Morrowind sometimes gets these commands "stuck" turned on. I'm not sure why, but usually it goes away after a little while. On thing I find can help is to hold down "control" (or "shift" ?) and then select the spell name. I believe this should solve the problem. Unfortunately, it would be very annoying to have to do that everytime!:p Hopefully, someone more knowledgable about Morrowind can point you toward a more permenant solution.
A similar problem crops up sometimes when you try to pick things up which are stacked. Sometimes they all come, or only just one, instead of giving you the option to select the quantity. This is also controled by shift and control.

*nod* Yeah, close enough; if you get out of menu mode, tap either the shift or control key (I forget as well, but I think it's shift), and then get back into menu mode and it's always been gone for me... at least, until then next time it crops up.
If memory serves, I'd traced it down to activating menu mode while holding down the 'run' key.
