I have spells of Mark and Recall. I also have an amulate of Recall. I am guessing I need the amulate of Mark for transporting back and forth? What are the spells of Mark and Recall for? When i cast spell of mark I am unsucessful.

When you cast Mark, it places a 'mark' in your position.
When you cast Recall, you return to the last mark you cast.
You can only have one mark placed at a time, from any source, and you can recall back to it with any recall spell or item.

All jokes aside (Hey, yeah, it summons Mark Gibbons!), the Mark spell sets an invisible-except-in-the-map 'X' where you're standing, and 'recall' takes you back there. You don't need to cast Mark more than once unless you're moving where you want to Recall to.
As to failing all the time, if via spell you'll need to raise your Mysticism; if via item (amulet, etc) I think you'll need to raise your enchanting.

When you cast the spell Mark, lets just say the game sets a beacon to where you casted it (where you were standing) You then cast recall to teleport back to where you casted Mark. You dont need the amulets for both, i dont think, so long as you have the spells.
