Ok, the more I visit this site, the more I feel like an idiot.:tsktsk:
For those of you following my sad saga through the world of Morrowind (see: "money?"), I'm now up to level 12 with a really nifty sword; "Umbra". Anywho, as I prefer to use magic rather than the more barbaric means most effective at this point (see above), I can't help but noticing all the references to spell making and enchanting on this board. Is this something at some point I will be able to do myself? Or am I just misreading the posts?
BTW: Enchanted Daedric armor rocks like a boulder in an avalanch.:)

Indeed you can. Head to the nearest Mages' Guild and find someone with 'Enchanting' under 'Pursuation' in their dialog. (Same with Spellmaking.)
You can also Enchant things yourself (you need a high Int and Enchant skill). Just drag an occupied soul gem onto your character and it should activate the Enchanting menu.

I have a problem with enchanting
im a khajit
and the only spells I have are: beggars nose/night eye/summon skeleton (with 0 chance of success)
when I try to enchant I only get this 3 in the spell list
how do I get an enchatment of 100-200 fire damage or something even less monsterous to the list?

...but... I have a few dozen spell parchments in my inventory and still I only get my default spell [Sanctuary] ability under the Create Spell menu...

That's not the same as *knowing* a spell. Parchments (aka scrolls) do not use your spell points when cast and they are not remembered by your character after they are used. To know an effect, you must by a spell from a spell merchant, not a scroll.
Even if your character were incapable of spellcasting, s/he could still use a scroll.

So whom exactly do I buy spells from? And how do they differ from scrolls [what, you just buy as blue glowing orb or something]?

Talk to someone in the mages' who has spells for sale- 'spells' will be an option in the dialogue box, near persuasion etc, i.e. near the top, above the line separating it from the rest of topics. When you buy a spell by clicking on one in the list displayed, it is inscribed in your spellbook, and you know its effect, for use in enchanting or spellmaking.

Ooooh, now I remember those... Always thought that was just a different way of purchasing scrolls; much thanks. :thumb:
