Do you choose to drive slower than posted speed limits?
Yes, sometimes I do. Sometimes the road is not really capable of taking those speeds, or conditions are not right for them, or there are other users on the road etc.

I just think people should go AT LEAST the speed limit
Er, no, they should go AT MOST the speed limit. The clue, you see, is in the name.

Seconding Matthew here. Once my sister was stuck on the highway in a really bad snowstorm. It was bad enough that she was going only at 40km/h. Obviously, she got overpassed by a lot of people, but curiously, many of those were found not that far, out there in the ditch. Far out in the ditch. So much for saving 2 minutes.
Also, if you have to drive faster so you can fit everything you want to do, either organise your time better, or do less stuff.

I'm with Matthew on this one too: going 60+ on single lane, narrow country roads is a surefire way to an early grave, you have to think for yourself and drive as fast as you feel comfortable doing. I'm not opposed to speeding provided it's not stupid and reckless but I do think everyone has a right to use the road even if they drive slower than you'd like. If you forced everyone to drive fast you might stop people being slowed down by slow drivers but you would see a lot more accidents because generally the people who drive slower are going to be the people who aren't as confident driving at higher speeds.
What's more, your average car is generally most efficient at around 50mph, so it's hardly unreasonable to allow people to drive at that speed on the motorway, they shouldn't be in the right hand lane but they should certainly be allowed on the motorway.

And I've already stressed that I too make the decision to slow down in the situations where it is not safe, but I'm talking on a regular day you're driving down the main road, do you see the speed limit and think 'Hey, I'm gonna drive way slower than that because I have all the time and money in the world, and I don't care who I'm slowing down because I want to drive slow and enjoy the view'? Or do you adjust your speed accordingly?
And when I say go at LEAST the speed limit, I don't mean that specifically... I mean if it's 45, go 40-45, not 25. I don't really care that people want to drive safely and obey speed limits because most people have great reasons too, family van, friend got killed in a car, it's the law, etc... But when they have cars behind the that so obviously need to be places, and they choose to go 25 in a 45, that's when it ticks me off.
Some people have a set income and a house and kids and life is good so they don't ever need to go fast because they never 'need' to be anywhere. Others are poor and barley scraping by and NEED to be somewhere.

I love how you keep comming up with new ways to justify driving too fast. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

You know what; I've already told you that I'm not trying to justify anything. It's a fact. People think they can just be snobbish to others because they have money. And there are a thousand reasons why people should drive the speed limits, and that is one of them. Also as I said you may have an emergency. What if you were with your girlfriend/ wife/ children and one of them crushed their hand in the door and it snapped in half breaking every bone in their hand, then you want to drive to the hospital but goody 2 shoes in front of you finds your fast driving as a threat and slows down, maybe you honk to let them know that it's an emergency, but they slow down even more.
In my life everything is an emergency, maybe that's why I find it idiotic of people to slow others down. My job and my life are very fast paced. Someone asked me if I drive an ambulance or something, well sometimes I actually DO get to drive the ambulances, but most of the time I drive the company truck and we DO need to drive fast because when one of our customers have an emergency, it's a HUGE emergency. We deal a lot with 911 dispatchers and SAR unit’s radios/ phones/ etc so if something like that has problems or goes down, we NEED to speed. We rarely get pulled over speeding because the cops know who we are and know why we speed, and if we do get pulled over, they never ticket us; we even have our own little flashing red/yellow light on the truck.
I guess I might take advantage of that privilege while not at work, but it's always something. And I still think if you're not gonna go the speed limit either because you're afraid or just don't want to drive that fast for no reason at all, ride a bike. Or walk/ run. If you're that slow, you could probably use the exercise anyway.

I can deal with too slow, as long as it's consistant. What I can't stand are the folks who drive 10 miles under the limit then triple their speed as they arrive at a passing lane, only to slow back down to a turtle's pace again after the passing lane ends. Unless you degrade into one of those tail-gaiting cocksuckers you pretty much need nitro to get around them.

So you would pass them when the oppertunity came along?

Of course. Not always going as fast as I'd like is just not worth getting pissed about IMO. Most of the time anyways...

I agree, getting pissed what-so-ever while driving isn't worth it. But the reason you pass them is because you'de rather be going faster. I don't see why everyone else is trying to say there's something bad about it. Thats why they invented the passing lane, but in cities there is usually no passing lane so when people go really slow, it's just that everyone else has to deal with.
When people drive slow, it makes people with road rage drive fast and crash into people/ things. It makes 'ME' look for oppertunities to get around them. Not get pissed.
