Sry to bother, but after a search I still have a problem.

I reinstalled DE (after 2-3 years I guess) for the Zodiac Mod. After installation I run into a sound problem: the NPC's (in training) speak with a distortioned sound, as if there is a tear in the speaker (there isn't). Very annoying..

Running XP (sp 1), SB Live!, AMD 2400 XP+.

Can't remember I ran into this before, while I use the same soundcard as when DE came out (different MB, chip and XP instead of 98, but it runs in both XP and 98 comp. mode). My DE is a GOTY version, 1112 f or whatsitsname.......

Anybody?

edit: forgot to mention, music runs ok, no distorion there...
